C-LARA

An AI collaborates with humans to build a language learning app.

Weekly summary, Dec 14-20

Phonetic texts

This functionality now seems to be working well, we have been using it a lot during the last week.

Alphabet book for Drehu

Pauline and I have almost finished the alphabet book for Drehu – all that’s left is to upload the audio, Pauline and her colleague Fabrice are working on that now. The draft version is posted at

https://c-lara.unisa.edu.au/accounts/content/6/

Conference submissions

Pauline and I submitted a paper about the Drehu work to ComputEL-7.

INTED said their rules required us to remove ChatGPT-4’s name from our submission if we wished to have it reviewed. I responded telling them to go fuck themselves, but worded it a little more politely.

Password reset and email updates

We have now integrated email into the UniSA deployment of C-LARA, and used it to implement a password reset function.

Exporting and importing projects

We are working on adding functionality for exporting and importing projects in zipfile form. The export functionality is now more or less functional. A simple form of the import functionality is working, but it needs to be elaborated.

Next Zoom call

Note to Southern Hemisphere peopletwo hours later than winter time, i.e. same time as last week.
