Cleaning up C-LARA

As many people have said, C-LARA’s appearance so far leaves a great deal to be desired. It lacks the styling typical of modern web apps. I have been holding off on addressing these issues, since I thought it was more important to get the functionality in place first. But now that the functionality seems to be working quite well and we’re about to release a new progress report, I figured it was a good moment to do a bit of work on the layout aspects.

As a first step, ChatGPT-4 and I have just replaced the clunky list of links at the top of every C-LARA page with a standard navigation bar using drop-down menus. The next time you log in, you’ll see something that looks like this:

The links and tool-tips are the same, but they are better organised. They take up less space on the screen, and it should be easier to find items.

ChatGPT-4 can do nearly all of the work for this kind of change, so it’s quick and easy. Suggestions welcome!
